Ocean sunrises are a real treasure in this area.

You can find info about tides, weather and sun and moon data at Long Beach in York, ME will take you to WillyWeather for info near the hotels, and you can adjust for anywhere else on the coast.

The weekend of the party the show starts with first light at roughly 6am, with sunrise at roughly 6:25. That’s only an hour or two after high tide so the beaches will be thinner but many area beaches like Long Sands in York have ample walking room, and there are many walking paths, especially around York Harbor. You might run into a surprising number of people and dogs if the weather is nice. Other areas with great viewing points are Ogunquit, ME and Wallis Sands Beach in Rye, NH. Reach out for more suggestions!

Afterward there are a few coffee shops open at that hour. St. Joe’s Cafe in York opens at 6am, The Bagel Basket in York opens at 6:30,  Caffe Kilim in Portsmouth is a Turkish coffee shop that opens at 6:30am, and Lil’s Cafe in Kittery Foreside opens at 7. If any of these times change they should be noted on the linked websites.

There’s a good chance I’ll be out there myself, and don’t hesitate to shoot me a message if you want to meet up for sunrise.
